Sungkyunkwan Scandal Appears as a Listening Question on College Entrance Exam. Is the Examiner Also a Fan of Sungkyunkwan Scandal?

Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which aired in popularity online on KBS, appeared as a question in the 2012 College Scholastic Aptitude Test that took place on the 10^th.

On the morning of the 11^th, a single posting was revealed on the bulletin of an online community website under the title of SKKS Scholastic Aptitude Test on Language Skillsand so gathered the eyes.

The posting that was revealed on that day was a capture of the second question of the exam’s listening evaluation for language skills. A scene from the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal was inserted and so delivers surprise.

Further, on the prompt for the listening evaluation it explained in the style of a lectureeugeon, paeraengi, tahngeon and such items that the students of Sungkyunkwan use and thus implies that the picture on the question is derived from the drama: “The following is a set preparing for a drama.”

The netizens showed interest: “There wasn’t any hindrance in solving the problem even if one did not watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal, right? “That gisaeng is Chosun who was onSungkyunkwan Scandal.” “It is originally a four-person group, where did one go?”

Jaejoong and Yoochun’s Cute Twitter Threats to Junsu

JYJ’s Jaejoong and Yoochun expressed their disappointment toward their fellow member, Junsu, after seeing the picture he uploaded onto his Twitter where he was eating by himself. In the picture, Junsu is looking through a menu at a restaurant in Spain. With this picture came the tweet, “What should I eat?”

After finding out about this particular tweet, Jaejoong and Yoochun burst into a fit of rage via their own respective Twitters. The reason for their complaints was because Junsu had told them that he was not hungry, and then proceeded to go out and eat by himself.

At Junsu’s tweet, Yoochun replied by saying “I guess you didn’t want to eat dinner with us. You said you weren’t hungry, but ended up going to eat on your own?” While Jaejoong’s reply was “Huk…He’s contemplating on what he should eat…He didn’t come eat with us…(T_T)”.

Junsu, feeling the need to explain, said, “keke No, I originally came out to shop…but I got really hungry…the smell pulled me in…”

 

In response to Junsu’s explanation, Jaejoong and Yoochun delivered cute threats by saying “Junsu, I’m going to switch the locations between your ribs and your Achilles heel…” and “Junsu~ I’m going switch the positions of your cheekbones and your talus.”

Despite the complaints and cute threats, Jaejoong and Yoochun showed off their care for Junsu through their next tweets. Jaejoong told Junsu to “Hurry and come back home~” and Yoochun told Junsu to “Sleep well” as soon as Junsu told them that he made it back to the hotel.

After observing this interaction among the JYJ members, netizens reacted by saying "Why are you leaving your members out?," "You may need to treat Jaejoong and Yoochun to a meal," and "Even with the scary threats, their tight bond is being unburied."

Spanish Media Calls JYJ "Three Justin Biebers"

On October 29, the prominent Spanish news site, El Mundo, released an article on JYJ (second section of the article) in light of their "JYJ Europe Tour Concert 2011" in Barcelona, Spain. It is the first time that El Mundo wrote an article on a Korean musician group. 

On October 29, which was the date of the concert, an article was written to introduce JYJ as well as express the anticipation for the concert. 

The article introduces JYJ as "a sensational, young, boy band from Korea." The headline of the artcile read, "Three Justin Biebers Have Appeared," and the article continues to introduce JYJ's album and the Europe tour. The article also informs, "JYJ has worked with Kanye West and sold over 500,000 copies of their album. Recently, their 'In Heaven' album has been released and they have started their European Tour."

Introductions and descriptions of each JYJ member are also in the article. "Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong are very good-looking like Justin Bieber. Their masculine style is very trendy. Fans go crazy over their powerful facial expressions."

Sources from JYJ say, "We are very happy that a prominent Spanish news site wrote a full article on JYJ as an international music group rather than just a reference to K-Pop. During the press conference, there were a lot more reporters than expected so we were very pleasantly surprised. We believe that this is a good sign for possibly further promotions in Europe."

JYJ held press conferences on the day before the concert as well as the day of the concert. Over 50 reporters from different news outlets attended and showed great interset in JYJ. Local TV, radio and newspaper outlets attended the press conferences and took much interest in JYJ's successful Japanese and American tours, further proving that JYJ is one of the greatest Asian music groups

 "Tatiana Alvarez," a Spanish local radio station from Cataluña, exclaimed, "The most surprising point is that this group is from a country that is not that well known in Spain and their concert is a sold-out show. After seeing them in the press conference, we realize how attractive and charismatic this team is and we now see the reason for their immense success."

JYJ will hold another concert in the Berlin Tempodrom in Germany on November 6. This concert also sold-out tickets just minutes after ticket sales have opened. Much anticipation and excitement await for JYJ's next concert.

[NEWS] 111109 Super Junior, Big Bang, TVXQ, and more on Hanteo’s ’2011 Singer Awards’ chart

H

anteo, one of the top album sales monitoring charts in Korea, has released their ’2011 Singer Award’ rankings.

Super Junior clinched 1st place with an overwhelming lead over all the other groups this year (~322,000 copies sold). Second place went to Big Bang (~217,000), while TVXQ has seized the 3rd spot (~201,000). They were followed by Kim Hyun Joong (~200,000) and JYJ (~158,000) for 4th and 5th places, respectively.

As expected, idols dominated album sales this year due to their large, dedicated fan bases. In addition, the top 5 are all male idols, with Kim Hyun Joong being the only male solo artist out of the five.

This chart is scheduled to be updated until the end of this year. However, with less than two months left in the year, it’s not likely that the rankings will change (with the exception of TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong who are currently neck-and-neck).

[NEWS] 111111 Actor Song Seunghun, Park Yuchun and Kim Taehee got together through the Italian restaurant “Black Smith” commercial

The three actors were recently chosen to be spokespersons for Black Smith, an Italian restaurant. Representative from Black Smith revealed, “We hired top models such as Kim Taehee, Song Seunghun and Park Yuchun upon the launch” and that “It was a good combination that suits our concept of the upscale Italian restaurant”.

The actors expressed their individuality with the concept “Do you like pasta?” in the pictures. Also, Song Seunghun and Park Yuchun shot [pictures] with the concept of a love triangle with Kim Taehee. Pictures of them eating food as appealing as them were revealed as well.

Black Smith is a brand created by the coffee franchise Café Bene. Black Smith has a message that it will deliver the authentic Italian cuisine with the artisan spirit of a skilled blacksmith. Black Smith is going to open on the 17th in Non Hyun-Dong in Gang Nam-Gu.
