The below is a question and answer session that Ahn Heejung, the popular governor of the state of Chungchungnam of Korea, had with his fanclub.
A citizen suggests using Jaejoong, who was born and raised in the state, as the state’s honorary ambassador. The governor is vaguely aware of JYJ’s plight and while the entire talk is done with a good amount of humor, in the end he directs a state worker to file an application to have Jaejoong serve. It’s always sad to be reminded of our boys being blocked, and let’s not get our hopes up too much, but crazier things have happened for JYJ before, so ^^….
Citizen: The son of the state of Chungnam(T/N: a state/province of Korea)… The son of the state of Chungchungnam, Kim Jaejoong-kun. Isn’t there any way to make him the honorary ambassador for the State of Chungchungman? First, whether you know just who this Kim Jaejoong is…
Governor: Well… you mean the singer, yes? JY…
Governor + Citizen: “J.”
Governor: Is it JY… JY—you mean
Citizen: Yes, that is right.
Governor: Right? The guy the broadcast stations have blocked from appearing, is the person you’re talking about, right?
Citizen: Yes… he is from Chungchungnam.
Governor: Ah… He is being blocked—what do you think about this blocking?
Citizens: It’s unfair treatment.
Governor: It’s unfair treatment?
Citizens: Yes.
Governor: So I hear that when that guy comes out, all of the broadcast stations block it. Where was that from? Was it Lee Suman’s side? It was Lee Suman’s, right?
Citizen: Yes.
Governor: That is so.
Citizens: *laugh*
Governor: Then shall I do some negotiating with Mr. Lee Suman?
Citizens: *laugh*
Citizen: That is—he is unable to come onto variety programs but the drama department lets him appear.
Governor: When you become a politician, such a variety of tasks become your work.
Citizens: *laugh*
Governor: To even the task of undoing the blocking by the entertainment industry…
Citizen: I am not asking that you undo the blocking. I am wondering whether you can use him as an honorary ambassador for the state of Chungnam.
Governor: I mean, how can you use someone who cannot even come on the TV as an honorary ambassador?
Citizens: *laugh*
Governor: To use him as an honorary ambassador, the blocking from TV must be undone. The two questions are the same.
Citizen: He does appear in dramas, is the thing.
Governor: Drama…
Citizen: Yes—only the department of variety programs block him.
Governor: So he’s just blocked from variety programs?
Citizen: Yes.
Governor: So he comes on dramas?
Citizen: Yes.
Governor: Ah… is that so?
Citizen: He is actually working as an honorary ambassador for a few other organizations.
Governor: Oh, is that so.
Governor: Well, then I will try to file the application.
Citizens: *laugh*
Governor: Mr. Chang Woosuk (T/N: an affiliate and worker for the state under the governor). Remember this and [file the application] later. [If it works out,] it’s great for us, so…
Governor: I am not sure whether Kim Jaejoong-kun himself would like it, but….
Citizens: *laugh*
Governor: Another person was like, on Twitter, “please (let Jaejoong) hold his concert, please.” When I looked at the profile, it looked like a female high school student. She said, “You have to (let him) hold his concert.” So what do I say to that? I just said “okay.”
Citizens: *laugh*
