Many students asked for a poster of famous group JYJ at the pharmacy.
Because of the students who have recently come to the pharmacy, pharmacist Kim Kibang who runs a pharmacy at Yongsan-gu, Seoul experienced an interesting thing.
A group of female students went to the pharmacy to buy a packet of Penzal Q and asked if he could give them the JYJ poster which was displayed at the pharmacy.
After saying that there was only one poster at the pharmacy, he sent them away. But other female students came and asked the same question, and this was repeated by others several times.
Pharmacist Kim Kibang said, “I called the company (Chong Kun Dang) and told them that the students have come many times to ask for the poster. They said that the same thing happened nationwide.”
Penzal Q of Chong Kun Dang is a pharmaceutical product coming out in an advertisement that an idol group was unconventionally appointed as model.
After the appearance of JYJ in the advertisement from October last year, Penzal Q has definitely gotten much more attention than before.
In the meantime, in order to get rid of Penzal’s old image, Chong Kun Dang has appointed some stars as models (such as Ahn Jae-mo) and used Gustav Klimt’s famous painting in packaging.
Appointing JYJ as models has heightened results, Penzal’s target audience expanded to teenagers.
Actually, after JYJ became Penzal’s models, the cases that teenage girls buy Penzal to relieve their period pain appear to have increased.
Chong Kun Dang’s official said that Penzal was in the ascendant. “Although the accurate sales data hasn’t come out yet, it seems very promising.”
In 2008, for safety, Penzal Q had the component isopropylantipyrin (IPA), which was raising controversies, removed from its components and was added Ethenzamide instead.
It’s a proven-to-be-safe pharmaceutical product that is not dangerous for health if young people take it in adequate amount.
