[NEWS] Yoochun’s Natural Acting Skills on ‘Rooftop Prince’

Photobucket

Yoochun is successful in winning the audience over with his different type of charm that he shows off in ‘Rooftop Prince.’
The Wednesday episode of SBS ‘Rooftop Prince’ Yoochun depicted crown prince of Lee Gak from the past showing off different charm as he follows Han Ji Min.
In the episode drew laughter as Yoochun instead of his usual red training suit he decides to wear denim jacket along with jeans seemingly pleased at his attire. Especially when Do Chisan came bringing a pair of ugg boots stating that he found the kings shoes and Yoochun nodding in agreement was the highlight.
Surely this kind of odd behavior with sad emotion in a character was never seen before. This kind of unrealistic character however has been well received through the excellent acting skills of Yoochun.
SBS drama director stated, “Park Yoochun demonstrated his outstanding abilities.”
Yoochun was in doubted if he could pull off such a comical character after playing serious roles in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ and ‘Mr. Ripley.’ However as each episode passes Yoochun is receiving praise for such realistic acting.
As in the future episodes it was stated that Yoochun will be removing his wig around the fifth episode. Drama production team shared yesterday, “It is expected for him to be given a haircut to create an image which is more sophisticated.” Such image change will bring a more positive impact for ‘Rooftop Prince.’

Everyone at the company told me that I received a good response so I felt really great about that.”

He continued, “There’s a bit of pressure in having to live up to expectations, but I want to pay back the support I’m receiving by focusing on my acting with each new episode, and presenting good skills.”

Yoochun plays the role of Lee Gak, a charismatic young man with a soft heart when it comes to love. After losing his wife the Princess, he wakes up 300 years later in 21st century Seoul. He stated, “Lee Gak is in a very sad predicament right now. He’s in a really big crisis, so I hope that everyone will understand and support the prince!”

[TRANS] 120329 “Rooftop Prince” Park Yoochun Removes His Wig! “Starts Targeting Female Hearts”

Park Yoochun plays the role of the crown prince, Lee Gak, in SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Rooftop Prince”, which began broadcasting on 21 March. In the drama, Lee Gak travels 300 years through time with his followers to Seoul in the 21st century upon losing his beloved crown princess, and falls in love with a girl he could not be with in his past life.

Thus, even in the 21st century, Park Yoochun has been wearing a wig, to fit the long-haired look of a male from the Joseon dynasty. In the third episode, Park Yoochun appears in most of his scenes dressed in a red training suit and with a wig on. However, Park Yoochun usually sports hairstyles which complement his good looks and gentle smile, so the female viewers have been expressing their regret that he appears in the drama wearing a wig. It is said that even the hairstyle makes a difference, so having a wig does affect Park Yoochun’s charisma.

In response to this, representatives from the production team of “Rooftop Prince” told enews on 29 March, “Park Yoochun will remove his wig around the fifth episode”, “It is expected for him to be given a haircut to create an image which is more sophisticated.” He then went on to say, “With this, Park Yoochun will give off even more charisma with his outstanding appearance.”

The production team feels that this change to a more sophisticated image for Park Yoochun will have a positive impact on “Rooftop Prince”, which has begun to see an increase in viewership ratings.

[TRANS] 120328 “Rooftop Prince” Park Yoochun, From An Upright Man, Caring Man, to “Charismatic + Comedic”

In the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince”, Park Yoochun, armed with charm and comedic value, has shown a type of charm that is unlike himself, causing great laughter from the audience.

First aired on 21 March, Park Yoochun plays the role of crown prince Lee Gak as well as Yong Tae Yong in “Rooftop Prince”, and his active performance has been very well received. Park Yoochun, who has been using a different type of charm to move the females’ hearts, has attracted a lot of attention.

In the 2010 KBS 2TV drama “SungKyunKwan Scandal”, he challenges acting for the first time with the role of the “upright man” Lee Seon Joon together with Park Min Young who pretends to be a man, and Yoo Ah In who is currently acting in “Fashion King,” his serious performance gaining him high popularity. Furthermore, dressed in his blue scholar outfit and traditional clothes, he made his way into the ladies’ hearts.

Following which, in 2011, he plays the role of the “caring man” who treats Lee Da Hae with gentleness and concern. In this modern day drama, he dresses in crisp black suits and a cool business style which is on the forefront of fashion, and even exposes his firm upper torso, once again moving female hearts.

Now, in 2012, with “Rooftop Prince,” Park Yoochun has successfully gained attention for a totally different type of charm and comedic value. In this time-travel drama, he displays the extraordinary charm of the Joseon dynasty crown prince Lee Gak, After traveling 300 years to modern-day Seoul, with Han Ji Min’s help, he and his consorts start adapting to modern life and shows a comedic charm. It was especially his removal of the royal robes and switching to the red tracksuit, that suitably interpreted this role.

Related personnel said with a quiet confidence, that “After “Rooftop Prince” began its broadcast, the cast, including Park Yoochun and Han Ji Min have received a great amount of positive comments, which excites the production team,” “If we continue this kind of atmosphere, we could soon be able to realise being number 1 in the Wednesday-Thursday drama slot.”

Currently being broadcast, “Rooftop Prince” which stars Park Yoochun airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9.55pm KST.

The crown prince Park Yoo Chun and his three pretty-boy servants have given a good laugh when they were cornered as perverts.

In the episode of SBS’s Rooftop Prince that aired on March 28, Lee Gak (played by Park Yoo Chun) and his pretty-boy servants (played by Lee Min Ho, Choi Woo Shik, and Jung Suk Won) are spotted in an embarrassing situation.
As they have traveled through time—300 years later to present—, the prince and his fellow are amazed by modern civilization. Park Ha (played by Han Ji Min), turns out to be taking care of them, and the first thing she does is handing them some donated clothes and tells them to change in a restroom. Lee and his people head to a building, but since they have no idea where a restroom is in present day, they mistake an elevator as men’s room for its four sides are closed.

Thankfully, the door closes, but they now encounter a group of female students wearing a uniform on a different level. The girls drop their jaw as they notice them taking off their clothes. They shouted, “Perverts,” and “Oh my God,” and begin to capture the scene with their phones. Once again, the scene gives a good laugh as the prince and his people are cornered as perverts.
The episode added more interest to a developing relationship between Park Ha and Lee Gak as they get close to each other in frequent arguments.

The star currently plays Prince Lee Juk in ‘Rooftop Prince‘, and apparently, he’s caught the attention of fellow actors and staff for his amazing ability to memorize lines.
