Kim Junsu and Cho Jungeun Selected as Honorary Ambassadors for the 5th Ceremony of “The Musical Awards”

To serve as honorary ambassadors of “The Musical Awards,” which is going to be held on the coming June 7^th and co-sponsored by the Korean Association of Musicals, Joongang Ilbo and jTBC, Musical actors Kim Junsu and Cho Jungeun were selected.

Kim Junsu received the Best New Male Actor Award in the last year’s “The Musical Awards” and rose as a rising star in musicals. Cho Jungeun is showing a more mature and deeper acting after studying abroad in England and is receiving the attention of the fans all by herself.

Kim Junsu, who had received the Best New Male Actor Award in the last year’s “The Musical Awards” through his first musical work “Mozart!,” met with the audience through the most talked-about musical of the first half of 2011, “Tears of Heaven,” in which the best staff of Broadway and the top actors of inside and outside of Korea participated. Kim Junsu set the record of selling out every seat and showed the best of ticket-powers and is showing a firm determination that he will continue to stand on musical stages.

On the other hand, “The Musical Awards” has grown with the musical market of Korea since being held for the first time in 2007. This year is its fifth and it is taking its place as a festival of the concert affiliates and the audiences who have protected the field of musicals. The introduction of the honorary ambassadors, the announcement of the works moving on to the main selection process and the schedule for activities after the awards ceremony are planned to be revealed through the official press conference on May 12.

[NEWS + PICS] Junsu’s Open Practice for “Mozart” Yields Many Photos

Kim Junsu, “Through the Musical “Mozart” Once Again a Moving [Performance]…”

The revelation of the practice room of the musical “Mozart” in which JYJ’s Kim Junsu appears was held at 1pm of May 11 in Seoul Choongu Yejangdong Namsan Creation Center.

In this day of practice, Kim Junsu (Xiah Junsu), Im Taekyung, Park Euntae, Chun Dongseok, Suh Bumsuk, Lee Jungyul, Min Youngki, Jung Sunah, Shin Youngsuk, and others attended.

Kim Junsu have already sold out all 3000 seats of the Sejong Cultural Center for the 15 performances and caused the ticket seller’s servers to fail when he appeared in “Mozart” last year. He has also had 40,000 seats sell out within 2- minutes in Olympic Gymnasium Arena, the largest indoors venue in Korea, for his Musical Concert.

Kim Junsu revealed his impressions: “As this is the first work that I rose on the stage for after debut under the name Kim Junsu (T/N: as opposed to Xiah Junsu), it gets the most of my affections. Also because this was my first musical I had some longing and nostalgia. While I was as such, I heard that the members of the premiere was going to join “Mozart” almost unchanged and I wanted to do “Mozart” again with them without fail. I am excited because I think I can show an improved stage.”

The Musical “Mozart” re-interprets in a modern way the genius musician Mozart’s dynamic life by laying it out with rock, jazz, and other such varied genres of music. It is a work that leaves a mark in your mind, through the 500 or so of splendored costumes that show the history, wigs and splendid stage arts.

On the other hand, the musical “Mozart” will be performed from May 24 to June 3 for about 1 month in Sungnam Art Center.

[News] JYJ’s Jaejoong to direct rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon Jae’s first gala

After pulling off phenomenal shows for the “JYJ World Tour 2011“, Jaejoong was approached to become the stage director for rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon Jae’s first gala!

Many of Korea’s top experts in the music industry have come together for the “LG Whisen Rhythmic All Stars 2011“, which will be held on June 11th and 12th at Korea University.

As the gala’s director, Jaejoong will be overseeing the music choice, arrangement, stage effects, choreography, and even wardrobe selection.

Representatives commented, “We felt that Kim Jaejoong would be able to maximize the dynamics of a gymnastics gala show, which is why he will be joining the directing team. He is currently preparing many things to make sure that Son Yeon Jae will be able to do her best amidst other world renowned athletes.”

Singer Tei will also be performing a duet at the event. IB Sports commented, “In order to expand rhythmic gymnastics, we’ve brought in professionals from all different areas. We hope to create a fun and exciting atmosphere that’s akin to an idol concert, which will combine the thrill of sports and the luxury of performances like ballet.”
