This time, a special DVD will be included in the DVD Box 2 which will include interviews from the 4 main leads (Yoochun, Jung Ki, Yoo Ah In, Park Min Yeong), and also the video recording of the actors in this drama wining awards (Yoochun received 3 awards) during 2010 KBS Drama Awards. During this award ceremony, JYJ’s Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu sang the soundtrack of this drama “Chajatta”. This was their first time singing on stage on a local show and it became quite a topic. Not too long ago, the Korean Entertainment Producers Association (KEPA) revealed that it would write and circulate a petition to be submitted to the Korean court in order to influence the outcome of the JYJ v. SM Entertainment (SM) litigation in SM’s favor and against JYJ. KEPA also claimed that JYJ was lying to the public on the issue of their unfair contract with SM. Park Yoochun's handsome appearance, strapping figure, as well as exceptional vocal ability, topped off with his undeniable acting potential as shown in the television drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” has caused envy among the netizens.

(TRANS) 110131 Kim Junsu’s Musical Sells Out In Record Time

Kim Junsu’s perfrmances of the musical ‘Tears of Heaven’ were sold out in record time.

The last round of reservations were on the 31st at 11am, and all seats were sold out for Kim Junsu's performances in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This is a new record for musical ticket reservations.

As there were not many seats available (4500 seats) in this third and final round and as there were around 30,000 domestic hopefuls, with an addition of fans overseas, the reservations were expected to be a ‘ticket battle’ fiercer than any other.

The first round of reservations of 10,000 seats was sold out in 5 minutes and the second round of 13,000 seats was sold out in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. In this third round, 4,500 seats were sold out in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Kim Junsu set the record of selling out all 17 of his ‘Tears of Heaven’ performances of 27,500 seats.

JIMMIE POST THIS according to this matter [the teaser to MBC's special documentary on the current situation of the Korean Wave]

Ajhummas are sooo furious about the MBC teaser... they are soo pissed off... any way here's what she said...

Apparently the teaser to MBC's special documentary on the current situation of the Korean Wave (with a special focus on idols’ disputes with their management) has just been released.  People at the JYJ Daum Telzone board are expressing worry that it is biased toward big management companies.  The ahjummas (and everyone else) are swearing that if the documentary misrepresents JYJ in any way, they will flood the MBS website and crash the server.  Then, they’ll even consider a blanket boycott on MBC (they also threatened this for SBS when SBS delayed the Good Morning show, and because of that SBS was quick to say they would release all 80 minutes on 19th-20th Jan).

And in the end, it was a very biased report.  The ahjummas are FURIOUS… we’ll see how long MBC lasts…

First of all, this program is an hour long investigatory journalism program. The corner on JYJ, Kara and the problem with K-ent system was only 20 min.

 1.  They reported on Kara and JYJ together, opening the segment with them, even though the two cases are not that comparable and the two groups are completely different from artistic history to contract terms to etc, etc, etc...

 2.  They formatted the segment in a way that in the end justified the management companies taking so much of JYJ + Kara’s profits…ie, they explained JYJ + Kara’s grievances in the first part and had management reps (that a**hole from Core Contents media was interviewed *vomit*) reply with “it’s because we spend so much on them for this, this, this…”in the next part. Basically, the format was:

Q (by Kara and JYJ): Why do we get so little money and so mistreated for all the work we do and profits we bring in.

A (by DSP, SM, Core Contents, etc): It’s because we have no choice but to spend $$$ on you as rookies/trainees.

The End.  Right, MBC, tell us something we DON’T know!  Well, now the entire nation knows that you ate money from SM and have neither the balls or brains to ask the difficult questions or consider an alternative to this system (that everyone ALREADY knew is screwed up!  What a waste of my 60 minutes!)!!!!

 3.  Not only is this biased reporting, it’s LAZY journalism. It’s so low-quality that it doesn't even DESERVE to be called “investigatory journalism”. Stephen Colbert does better investigatory journalism than this ****!

 4.  A good ten minutes of the segment was a marketing engine for rookie group 5 dolls. A lot of JYJ fans are like WTF?!  at this.  You dare to use JYJ’s name (then dirty it by implying that their management is in the right) for a thinly-veiled marketing ploy on behalf of a rookie girl group?

  

So now, the ahjummas are flooding the MBC message board… I hope they make MBC’s server crash!

(NEWS) Newspaper article about JaeJoong’s new drama

(exclusive report) Jang, Dong Gun, Ha, Ji Won, Hero JaeJoong came together in a ’10 billion Won drama’

Jang, Dong Gun, Ha, Ji Won and Hero JaeJoong are expected to work together in a new drama Korean Peninsula.

HBD is set in Korea after the two Koreas’ reunification.

HBD’s production costs are over 10 billion won. The lead roles are;
The first president of unified Korea – Jang, Dong Gun
President’s love and rival – Ha, Ji Won
Team leader (Director) of NIS (National Intelligence Services) that make Jang, Dong Gun the first president – Hero JaeJoong from JYJ

They’ll star as proud Koreans who defend unified Korea from foreign powers who secretly fight over resources.

If their appearances are confirmed, the drama will have dream casts of three ‘one top’ lead roles.

HBD’s production company Raemong Raein has produced shows highly claimed for both their quality and popularity, such as . Raemong Raein has spent past three years preparing for this drama with the resolution that they’d produce a great drama that would go down the history of Korean dramas.

An official said “casts of Jang, Dong Gun, Ha, Ji Won and Hero JaeJoong and so on are about 90% confirmed. The planning of this drama is so solid that cable networks as well as broadcasting companies are contacting the production company (wanting to air the show).

HDB will start shooting in June, July and will be aired sometime in October this year.

Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won and Kim Jaejoong may come together for new drama

Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won and JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong will most likely unite to star in an upcoming drama called “Peninsula.”

This drama is going to be a big production; it is already reported to have a budget of 10,000,000,000 WON, which equates to nearly $9 million dollars. The drama will feature a united Korea (no separation between South and North), the united nation’s president, and his National Intelligence Director.

The president’s role is most likely going to go to Jang Dong Gun and Ha Ji Won is slated to be the female lead. Jaejoong is supposed to be play the Director.

Jang Dong Gun has revealed recently that he is interested in starring in this drama. Additionally, Ha Ji Won has expressed that she would like to join this production as soon as filming for her new movie ends.

One reps for the drama said, “Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won, and Jaejoong are all 90% confirmed.”

The filming will begin in June and July and it will start airing in October.

Hearing of this, Korean JYJ fans flooded the MBC public message board with requests that the report feature JYJ and that it doesn’t compromise or distort JYJ or their activities in any way. What follows below is a message left on the MBC public message board that I found especially powerful and moving.

Giant idol management companies and the associations formed to protect their interests are playing the Hallyu card. But, the Hallyu that they speak of and defend is not the pride of the Korean people but our shame. If Hallyu means using the dreams of the young to violate their human rights, if that is what is necessary for Hallyu to progress, it is a disgrace to our entire country. As an adult (Translator’s note: she’s an auntie), how am I supposed to show my face? A genuine Hallyu must be one that doesn’t oscillate with trends even after a long time but comes to fundamentally embody [our] culture.

You must have heard of the expression, ‘to sell rice before the harvest’ (Translator’s note: the English equivalent would be ‘to put the cart before the horse’). These idol management companies are doing just that, in a way that violates laws and playing with human beings no less. They rail about being betrayed and talk of their good graces [toward their idols], but have they ever worked with a mindset friendly to social welfare for the realisation of dreams? Scooping up talented children and youth then using their dreams and lives to secure corporate interests does not count.

Have you actually heard JYJ’s music?

Before you broadcast your piece, I highly recommend that you listen to JYJ’s songs.

They are the genuine alternative.

In entertainment programmes that push into the citizens’ faces perilously under-dressed minors and make sick perverts of us all, I have no interest. I want to see genuine singers and artists; I want to focus on the melody and the lyrics. It’s no wonder the giant management companies are afraid of JYJ: these three youths are talented, hard-working, sincere and never give up in the face of difficulties. It is now time for our entertainment industry to undergo the same kind of change. To the Korean people, who have always overcome life’s hardships with music and singing, GIVE US GENUINE SONGS!!!!

[JYJ] have what’s needed to unite people of all ages and expand our popular music to the rest of the world. Don’t block them.
