[Allkpop ] JYJ’s Jaejoong wants to see TVXQ’s Yunho and Changmin again

Recently, JYJ’s Jaejoong updated his Twitter with a post that is causing quite the commotion amongst fans of both JYJ and TVXQ.
He wrote, “I don’t know if I should be saying this… I miss Yunho and Changmin… No matter what anyone says, they’re our members and I know them better than anyone else… People might say it’s pointless in saying this but… I want to see them again. It’s been a while.”
JJ’s tweet below:
이런 얘기 해도되는지 몰라..윤호 창민이도 보고싶네 ..누가뭐래도 우리멤버이고 누구보다 잘아는 녀석들이니..괜한 주책이라고 말할진모르지만 ..오랜만에 보고싶다.

Well, it seems Korean language can be played out in many ways on purpose or accidentally. Perhaps, this is why there was (^still is) such a discrepancy of information and perception between  korean fans and international fans. And also the reason that many international fans still keeping the hope for 5 together under the name of faith, while most of korean fans escaped from such an illusion long ago.
Now, let’s look at Allkpop translation of JJ’s tweet: He said 보고싶네 on the 1st line of his tweet, then 보고싶다 on the 3rd line. Both are exactly the same word with the same meaning, but Allkpop translated it as `miss´ for the 1st & `want to see again´ (which was also the title of their posted article) for the 3rd line, which was NOT NECESSARY. Koreans can see this without thinking it out much.
It is another story that they posted only this tweet but not the other 3 immediately before this one & 2 other afterward. So, the agenda is obvious.
If you read 4 successive tweets talking about Junsu, Yoochun, then finally come to YH & CM, it is clear how he love & appreciate the current JYJ members for the past, present and future. They moved on. At the same time, he remember YH & CM tenderly as a good memory of the PAST. There is no gloomy feeling mentioning 2, which is sweet and generous. That’s as far as it goes, but no further.
On the 3rd line, he said one short sentence 오랜만에 보고싶다. But Allkpop transformed it into two separate sentence 다시 보기를 원한다 + (못본지)한참 되었다. What difference does it make?
JJ lightly touches on the subject that he miss them after quite a while… implying they were not always occupying his mind, but he tenderly recall their memories at this moment with neither bitterness nor desperate longing to see them again.
However, Allkpop’s transformed translation of two separate sentences made it sound a determination to see them again by the 1st sentence`I want to see them again´ then emphasize or boost it by the 2nd sentence`It’s been a while´

To answer questions from many, all at once, now JYJ3 posted a good translation. The biggest problem I had was like the following:
JJ said 오랜만에 보고싶다 which goes: I miss them after a long time.
This means, we can’t surmise accurately day by day’s feeling in a sense of continuity. We can’t always thinking of something or someone while living hectic lives, but time to time such a moment come, right? It’s sweet, sober and sensible at the same time.
Another version goes: I really have been missing them for a long time, which make JJ said 오랫동안 정말 보고싶었다.
This explicitly appeal to the sense that JJ is declaring incessant feelings or longing to see them during the long period of time passed in-between. It’s very emotional, which can be almost equal to love declaration of surviving wife toward deceased husband, for example
P.S. Well… JJ is the only one who knows his own feeling and meaning of course, but language also speak for them if understood correct and native speakers have that advantage if not interpreting willfully…
JYJ3 NOTE: We thank all the translators who provide news/info about JYJ. But we also ask them to be responsible  and careful with their work.

  1. hey, freedom of speech!

geez! people can twist one's innocent words into something malicious.....

i LIKE JJ's honest feelings...why can't he express his feelings at that time? i mean, TVXQ has been together...like together literally, for more than a decade (counting their training and pre-debut years) so its but HUMAN nature to miss ....

seriously, i am now slowly hating and being disgusted on anything about Korean media, the whole scope of media and Korean entertainment industry...they are not entertaining anymore...i am definite that they do not have brains at all
