[HUMOR] 120409 The untold love story: Rooftop Fashion King

javabeans: New mashup! It’s Rooftop Prince meets Fashion King in… wait for it…Rooftop Fashion King.
girlfriday: Hahaha. So perfect. Is it the long-awaited sequel to Sungkyunkwan Scandal? I always knew those crazy kids were meant to be.
javabeans: So when they were fighting over sleeping positions, they really WERE just trying to get close to each other?
girlfriday: Yeah, they were like, what’s this girly other guy doing here? We were good just the two of us!
javabeans: It’s the age-old story of two kiddos from the opposite side of the tracks, one Noron, the other Soron…
girlfriday: Bickering hate turns into love…
javabeans: And transcends time, apparently. So in Rooftop Fashion King, old-timey Yoochun arrives in these suspicious new times…

girlfriday: Did he follow Ah-in to the future? Because he couldn’t live without his friend?
javabeans: I believe Yoochun accuses Ah-in of using his wicked sorcery to warp him into the present, and insists he set things to rights. Ah-in’s all, Whatever, dude, get away… until we see the flashback to when Ah-in was in Joseon times with him.
girlfriday: It’s kinda amusing that they’re the same personalities from the other drama, in their new ones. Ah-in is as surly as ever and Yoochun is still a haughty stick-in-the-mud.
javabeans: That’s what makes the mashup (which was done by the same person who did the awesome Hunter over Flowers) so great. It totally works, on all fronts — Rooftop, Fashion King, AND Sungkyunkwan. So now you have Yoochun running around Seoul trying to get Ah-in to reverse his spell, and they keep bickering back and forth all the time, which you know is just a prelude to the love part.
girlfriday: I love that there’s actually a fashion show sequence in both shows that fits perfectly.
javabeans: And the omurice feeding! How Ah-in kicks him out, then feels bad and feeds him. I love how Yoochun watches Ah-in eating and comments how pretty he looks eating. How appropriate that it’s Yoochun who breaks the gender taboo in both dramas, being up-front about his feelings…
girlfriday: And the look on his face when he sees him get into bed shirtless? Followed by the declaration that he’s going to live there now. Hee.
javabeans: Cheeky punk. Then Yoochun sees Ah-in being manhandled by that punk Lee Je-hoon, and gets all hot ‘n bothered.
girlfriday: All, that’s MY bickering-hate-manlove! Step away! This is like an entire 16-episode drama on speed. Yoochun finally melts Ah-in’s cold heart…
javabeans: And they live happily ever after? Or at least until they come out with Antique Miss Ripley Who Can’t Marry?
girlfriday: That one sounds less pleasant. I think I’ll stick to more episodes of Rooftop Fashion King.
javabeans: I’ll take its racier cousin, Rooftop Scandal.
girlfriday: Rawr! For that, we need Joong-ki.
javabeans: Well, he’s got the fashion design creds now. He can be the creative diva they fight over.
girlfriday: Or they could cut in his Tree With Deep Roots footage, to have two royals fighting for the throne.
javabeans: LOL: “You will be king! Toughen up!” “But I want to do what I want to do!… design hanboks!”
girlfriday: Cut to future, where Yoochun discovers that the real reason Ah-in came to the present was to make it so that Joong-ki could follow his dreams. Love triangle!
javabeans: Heartbreak! Well, I guess the prince can’t beat the two kings.
girlfriday: Two? Oh Joseon and Fashion? Aw, poor princey. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
