[NEWS] Kim Jun Su’s “You are So Beautiful” hit #1
New KT Music portal site Olleh Music has a new number one hit song this week: a song in SBS TV series Scent of a Woman “You are So Beautiful,” which JYJ’s Kim Jun Su sings.
2ne1’s “Ugly,” Super Junoir’s “Mr. Simple,” Miss A’s “Goodbye Baby,” and Ha Dong Kyun and Lee Jung’s “I Will Wait” (song in KBS TV series The Princess’ Man) seize the next five places on music chart.
Sunny Hill’s “Pray,” CM HaHa’s “Sticky Rice Cake” (Infinity Challenge), 4minute’s “Fee Style,” Davichi’s “Heaven,” 2ne1’s “Hate You” are also recorded high on the chart.
KT Music says, “In this week, there was a fierce battle between idol group’s songs and songs from TV series. Digital music charts will face some hot battles, too, as news songs are continually released.”

JYJ Continues to Make Strides on Drama OSTs
Following the success of JYJ Junsu’s latest single, “You Are So Beautiful,” from SBS drama “Scent of a Woman,” the entire K-pop industry is now turning heads to see if drama OSTs will become a new winning strategy for the trio.
According to JYJ’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, Junsu’s “You Are So Beautiful” has swept all Korean music charts immediately upon release on August 5th. It didn’t just dominate music portals such as Naver and Daum Music, but it’s also topped various online music charts including Dosirak, Melon, Bugs, and Cyworld.
But this is not the first drama OST track by JYJ to make strides in K-Pop. Last June, when Yoochun sang “A Space Left for You,” the theme song for his drama “Miss Ripley,” it dominated most Korean online sites. Also, JYJ was featured in the OST album for Yoochun’s other drama, “Sung Kyun Kwan Scandal,” which recorded impressive sales numbers for a drama OST.
And now Jaejoong is reported to have participated in the production of the OST of SBS drama “Protect the Boss.” Jaejoong is expected to boost the popularity of the drama with his song writing and singing skills.
“JYJ’s emotional vocal skills help viewers to completely immerse themselves in the drama. When JYJ members actually star in the drama, it adds more power to their vocals and the overall quality of the show,” an official from the drama’s production crew said.
“I think part of the reason JYJ’s so popular with OST albums is because it’s so hard to see them on TV. It helps promote the drama because any song released by JYJ sparks massive fan interest,” the official added.
Junsu is making his drama debut in a cameo role for the August 6th episode of SBS drama “Scent of a Woman.” Jaejoong is currently in SBS “Protect the Boss” that has recorded impressive TV ratings in the first two episodes this week. Yoochun has already starred in popular dramas such as MBC “Miss Ripley” and KBS “Sung Kyun Kwan Scandal.”

‘You are so beautiful’, OST of KBS ‘Scent of a Woman’, sang by Kim Junsu of group JYJ was unveiled.
On the 31th of last month, in the drama ‘Scent of a Woman’, ‘You are so beautiful’ of Kim Junsu flowed from the dating scene at Okinawa of YeonJae (Kim SunAh) and JiWook (Lee DongWook) and from the scene where YeonJae writes down what she must do before she died.
Kim Junsu expresses his own thoughts about ‘Scent of a Woman’, “Even though the heroine has received terminal illness diagnosis and is in worst situation, she still stands strong for her remaining life. Thanks to this drama, I can breathe life,” and “I feel gratitude for the people around me and I think that every small thing in daily life is precious. That woman’s last love has to accept the death; I think that it’s more sad and sorrowful that she merrily paints her desperate life.”
Then he explained, “Therefore, I tried to sing YeonJae’s theme song ‘You are so beautiful’ with soft and bittersweet feeling while thinking about a pitiful and lovely YeonJae.”
In the end of that day’s broadcast, there was a preview of Kim Junsu’s cameo scene.
