JYJ Continues to Make Strides on Drama OSTs

Following the success of JYJ Junsu’s latest single, “You Are So Beautiful,” from SBS drama “Scent of a Woman,” the entire K-pop industry is now turning heads to see if drama OSTs will become a new winning strategy for the trio.

According to JYJ’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment, Junsu’s “You Are So Beautiful” has swept all Korean music charts immediately upon release on August 5th. It didn’t just dominate music portals such as Naver and Daum Music, but it’s also topped various online music charts including Dosirak, Melon, Bugs, and Cyworld.

But this is not the first drama OST track by JYJ to make strides in K-Pop. Last June, when Yoochun sang “A Space Left for You,” the theme song for his drama “Miss Ripley,” it dominated most Korean online sites. Also, JYJ was featured in the OST album for Yoochun’s other drama, “Sung Kyun Kwan Scandal,” which recorded impressive sales numbers for a drama OST.

And now Jaejoong is reported to have participated in the production of the OST of SBS drama “Protect the Boss.” Jaejoong is expected to boost the popularity of the drama with his song writing and singing skills.

“JYJ’s emotional vocal skills help viewers to completely immerse themselves in the drama. When JYJ members actually star in the drama, it adds more power to their vocals and the overall quality of the show,” an official from the drama’s production crew said.

“I think part of the reason JYJ’s so popular with OST albums is because it’s so hard to see them on TV. It helps promote the drama because any song released by JYJ sparks massive fan interest,” the official added.

Junsu is making his drama debut in a cameo role for the August 6th episode of SBS drama “Scent of a Woman.” Jaejoong is currently in SBS “Protect the Boss” that has recorded impressive TV ratings in the first two episodes this week. Yoochun has already starred in popular dramas such as MBC “Miss Ripley” and KBS “Sung Kyun Kwan Scandal.”

On the home page of iMBC Miss Ripley on the 14^th, the music video for The Empty Space for You which Park Yoochun sang was posted.

The revealed music video has images of Park Yoochun who has shown a pure and noble love to Lee Dahae all this while. The scene in which he plays the piano, which is picked as one of the best scenes of the drama, take up most of the video.

The netizens responded as follows: “I am falling deeper at seeing the song and video together.” “I am sad that the last episode is not far away.”

On the other hand, The Empty Space For You which Park Yoochun sang is receiving much love, putting itself on the high end of the digital music charts immediately after release.

[News] Miss Ripley’s sound track album sung by Park Yoo Chun and Hwa Yo Bi is released

Park Yoo Chun who plays Song Yu-hyeon in Miss Ripley and talented singer Haw Yo Bi sang in MBC’s drama series Miss Ripley’s sound track album, and 10,000 copies are released.

Park Yoo Chun sang the OST “The empty seat for you” which is the theme song for his character and is gaining a lot of popularity.

The moment that the song was released (June 21^st) it was number one on real-time searched words and made number one on various online music char (Naver, Daum, and Melon etc.)

Park Yoo Chun’s version of “The empty seat for you” is said to fit well with Park Yoo Chun’s sensual voice and perfectly portrays a man’s affection for one woman. The song fits in well with Park Yoo Chun’s character “Song Yoo Hyun” and makes the drama a more enjoyable experience.
