[Trans] 111114 Ji Sung Interview : I Thank JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, For Giving Me Sasaeng Fans

Ji Sung talked about his friendship with Kim Jaejoong, who appeared in the drama “Protect the Boss” with him. Ji Sung said in an the interview that, “Because of Kim Jaejoong, I became a teenage idol who’s not a teenage idol.”
“When I saw JYJ Kim Jaejoong’s fans come to the shooting location to cheer him on, and watch him shoot, I felt that Kim Jaejoong really has infinite charm, and felt very affectionate. However, one day some Japanese fans appeared in front of my house to wait for me (laughs) Usually, fans don’t come to actors’ houses, but after shooting “Protect the Boss”, I have gotten those so-called “Sasaeng fans” (Fans who stalk stars’ private lives), it’s really amazing.”
Unwittingly becoming an idol star due to the drama, Ji Sung was unselfish in his praise for Kim Jaejoong. He said, “Kim Jaejoong dispelled all my biased thoughts about idol groups. Through Kim Jaejoong,  I now know that idol stars who lead the hallyu wave have great strength, and work very hard. Kim Jaejoong always dreamed of being an actor, and now that he has made the first step, I’m really thankful for his hard work, and his efforts changed the entire atmosphere of the drama.” Also, Ji Sung showed his sincere friendship with Kim Jaejoong, who he had formed a close bond through the drama.
“To me, being able to act with Kim Jaejoong was a great experience, and there were many interesting scenes that we worked together on. When we shot the fighting scene, we kept making NGs due to laughter, and I feel that I have gained a good younger brother, so it feels good.”
Ji Sung also said that in his next project, he hopes to work with an idol singer, and when asked for a reason, he said, “When working with idol singers, the fans will send lots of delicious food, so for my next project I want to work with an idol singer too.”

[NEWS] Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong Plan To Bring in Japanese Fans With “Boss”

Ji Sung – Kim Jaejoong. With “Boss” Tows in Fans of Japan
Photobucket
Actor Ji Sung and JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong will tow in the Japanese fans.
The SBS Wednesday drama Protect the Boss in which the two actors stepped out as leads will land in the archipelago of Japan in the middle of next month. Japan’s KNTV and DATV starting on the 10th and 12th respectively will air one episode a week of Protect the Boss which finished this month at 18 episodes. Both stations slotted Boss on prime time, with KNTV airing it around 10pm on Tuesdays and DATV airing it around 11pm on Saturdays.
This is because of the popularity of Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong as Korean Wave stars. Ji Sung gained Japanese fans early with the SBS drama All In and cemented his position withNew Heart and such. Kim Jaejoong is of course enjoying an explosive popularity in Japan with his activities as an actor, and in 2009 he even debuted in Japan earlier (than he did in Korea) with the one-act piece Heaven’s Postman in which he collaborated with Han Hyojoo.
A person close to Ji Sung relayed: “Recently when  he attended Pusan International Film Festival, foreign fans swarmed and so we felt again the fact of his being a Korean Wave star. With Kim Jaejoong’s power added in also, we look forward to the popularity of the drama in Japan.”

[Trans] 111015 Ji Sung Says, “I’ve Become Friends With JYJ Thanks To Kim Jaejoong, We Drank Together In Busan”

The person who gave the cutest performance on the red carpet of the 16th Busan International Film Festival that opened on the 6th was the actor Ji Sung(34). Though he wasn’t in Busan because he had appeared in a movie, he drew the attention of many when he received the largest cheers from those at the festival.
Ji Sung, who received much love from viewers through SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’, stepped on the red carpet as an actor who was invited to attend the festival in Busan. As soon as he appeared, he flashed ‘V’s at the camera in what can only be described as something Ji Hun would do.
“I wasn’t there in Busan because I had participated in a movie, but everyone greeted me with great enthusiasm. I think it’s all thanks to Ji Hun so I wanted to give back in the form of fan service. I thought about what would be best, and I came to the conclusion that the ‘V’ fits Ji Hun the best.”
Ji Sung said that he felt as though his performance on the red carpet was the best way to let go of Ji Hun for the last time. Though he hasn’t prepared a follow-up drama yet, he felt as though he needed to let the character go after spending so much time with him. The actor showed his gratitude for the character who healed him in many ways.
The night in Busan was buzzing with excitement. All the actors and representatives in the industry drank together at various cart bars in Haeundae. Ji Sung was no exception. “I’m not that familiar with the movie industry, so I was in the position of going around and greeting everyone. I walked around and tried to greet as many representatives as possible.”
In the end, Ji Sung shared a glass of soju with the members of JYJ, who were invited to the festival for the ‘A Night for Actors’ event. Thanks to Kim Jaejoong, who had appeared in ‘Protect the Boss’ with him, Ji Sung was able to become friends with JYJ. “I had a glass of soju with Yoochun, Junsu and Jaejoong. It was fun because they’re all such young friends.”
Ji Sung said that he thought of his chemistry with Kim Jaejoong in the drama to be very important. Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong), Ji Hun’s only friend and rival, constantly got into petty fights with Ji Hun in the drama and that made it essential for the two actors to be at ease with each other.
“I’m grateful to Jaejoong because he did so well despite the fact that this was his first time acting in a drama. My chemistry with him was really important and it worked out. I had great chemistry with Wang Ji Hae and Choi Kang Hee as well. It’s actually really hard for actors to get along so well like we did.”

[INTERVIEW] Ji Sung Says Fit with Jaejoong Important and Great; Drank with JYJ

This is an excerpt relating to JYJ from one of Ji Sung’s interviews.

Photobucket

Ji Sung drank with the members of JYJ who were invited to the Night of Actors event. Thanks to Kim Jaejoong with whom he had appeared in Protect the Boss, he came to have a connection to JYJ. “I drank soju with Yoochun, Junsu and Jaejoong. They are all young and so it was fun.”

Ji Sung says that he considered his fit with Kim Jaejoong to be extremely important. Muwon, who is Jihun’s only friend and also a powerful rival, was one of the characters with the most scenes clashing with Jihun. As much as this, it was key to come to have a comfortable relationship with each other.

“For Jaejoong, this should be the first time acting for a drama in earnest. My fit with Jaejoong was important and we fit well. Not merely with Jaejoong but the fit was good with Wang Jihye, Choi Kanghee, with everyone. Even though it is difficult for all actors to fit so well to this degree.”

[INTERVIEW] Excerpt of Jaejoong from Jisung’s Interview

About Kim Jaejoong:

I wondered what kind of heart an idol would carry when coming at acting. The point for what I truly want to give him applause is that he has sincerely engaged himself into it. It’s not something like ‘I must be an actor too’ but you must do it (acting) systematically. If you’re too inflexible, your own color can’t be shown. But he always sought advice from seniors without shaking.

In the interview with Seoul Shinmun NTN, Choi Kanghee said, “Ji Sung and Jaejoong had a good atmosphere together. So I told the two to do a project together.”

“I think that I can’t get close to all the actors after acting with them in just one drama. If we can meet again by chance, we will be able to smile and have a good memory together. In Jaejoong’s case, since this kid has tried to get the along and approached first, has fully thrown himself into acting, I couldn’t help being doing well too.  I think I has become like that because he matched up our level first.”

[INTERVIEW] Ji Sung: Jaejoong Immersed Himself into Cha Muwon with Perpetual Humility

Another interview of Ji Sung was released today. Here is an excerpt with Jaejooong ^^.

Photobucket

Q: How were things with Kim Jaejoong who does not have too much experience in acting yet. Apart from the love line with Noh Eunsul, the “Cha-Cha Couple” also gathered quite the popularity. (laugh)

Ji Sung: Acting is not something to be taught and so there is a limit to giving advice. I just let him hear of my own experience and we shared conversations on how we wished the characters of Cha Jihun and Cha Muwon would meet. Jaejoong is a friend who is enough to also become an actor (in addition to a singer). I believe that this is a result that came about because he immersed himself into the character with perpetual humility. We also benefited from this effect. If even one person falls, the story itself becomes shaky. On this point, I was extremely thankful to Jaejoong.

Q: The scene that most the most impression (with me) with regards to the two men was when the two fought for Noh Eunsul in the restaurant. They clutched at each other’s hair and fought and in the end Cha Muwon shot a “straight-arm fist” to Cha Jihun. I heard that this was your idea.

Ji Sung: I did not want (us) to fight with charisma. The two are cousins and so when young they must have fought kicking and headbutting and they must have also played house. As we talked with the martial arts director as to how to express this, an idea came about. Yes, let’s pull the hair! (laugh) Let’s both pull the hair and let’s fall down with the neck twisting. At this, let’s squeeze the neck and the leg and even wrestle. After getting down the lines of movement like that, I asked Jaejoong. “Are you good at fighting?” “Me?” “No, not you. Is Muwon good at fighting?” “I think he has never fought?” “That’s so, isn’t it? I also think that he has never fought. Then it seems that you and I won’t fight with structure. Let’s hit while holding your fist like this!” The eyes burn into the other but the fist is a straight-armed one. Haha.

Q: It was very pleasant to watch the four become not merely a simple four-cornered love line but rather good friends to each other. If this were to expressed naturally it seems that there must have been a process in which the actors also became close as human beings. How was it.

Ji Sung: When people who have never met before sit down together to read the script it is awkward. Since the drama’s genre is bright also, I suggested that we all go on a trip before filming. I thought it would be nice if we have a bonfire and drink a bit of soju and talk. On the trip, we asked each other this: What kind of a person is Ji Sung? What kind of a person is Jaejoong? What kind of a person is Kanghee? What things do you like? As if we were playing truth and dare. It seems like questions out of nowhere but we needed a process for getting to know each other.

[INTERVIEW] Ji Sung Mentions Jaejoong in Interview– It is a Fact that Because of JJ We Were Stronger.

Ji Sung did an interview in which he mentioned Jaejoong. ^_^

Photobucket

Q: You also received love, for the Cha-Cha Couple with Kim Jaejoong.

Ji Sung: Through Kim Jaejoong I have come to see the idol singers in a new light. Kim Jaejoong, with a goal in his mind, did his best and did well—and I am truly thankful. It is also a fact that because we were with him we received more strength. Anyways, recently I saw Jaejoong sing in the closing ceremony of the Track and Field Championships and it was really a strange experience. Jaejoong, as the drama filming finished, told me: “Hyung, I’m sad.” I told him “You, go back to JYJ.” Haha.

Park Yoochun who is looking forward to his first appearance in the Pusan International Film Festival enjoyed the night of Busan.

On the night of the 6th which was the opening day of the 16th Busan International Film Festival, Park Yoochun had a small gathering and had drinks with his associates in a pocha (T/N: cart-like structure that operates like a restaurant) near Pusan’s Haewoondae and soaked up the mood of the festival.

Ji Sung who had finished Protect the Boss nd had come down to Pusan also joined Park Yoochun and had a fun time. Ji Sung has already collaborated in drama with Kim Jaejoong, a friend of Park Yoochun in JYJ.

Park Yoochun arrived one day earlier than the other members. The three have ahead of them the “Star Road” event that will be held on the 7th. He did not walk on the red carpet of the opening ceremony but he unburdened his heart within the ocean breeze and enjoyed the festival.

On the other hand, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu, and Kim Jaejoong will attend the Star Road event on the 7th and step on the red carpet and attend Busan International Film Festival as actors. All three members have all began their journey as actors through dramas and musicals already and so this event is especially meaningful.

[TRANS] 111002 Choi Kang Hee Says, “Ji Sung Is Good Husband Material.. Jaejoong Is Naturally Gifted”

Choi Kang Hee applauded the actors she worked alongside in SBS’ ‘Protect the Boss’ as the drama came to an end on the 29th.

In a recent interview with Yonhap news, Choi Kang hee talked about Ji Sung, who is the same age as her and was her love interest in the drama, and said, “He said he has an IQ of 147 and I think he’s really smart.”

We experimented with a lot of ad libs and would unexpectedly make each other laugh while acting, but those moments molded well with the drama.” She then added, “Ji Sung is both like an adult and a baby at the same time. He’s a warm and caring person so I think he’d make a great husband.”

She then added, “Jaejoong is very, very kind,” and “I had fun acting alongside him.”

Choi Kang Hee gave Park Young Gyu a thumbs up as she said, “He’s really cool.”

She said, “Though Park Young Gyu is quite old, I don’t feel that age difference with him. He’s really charming and very passionate.”

She smiled as she said, “He felt like such a young person and he made me think that I wanted to live young like him when I reach his age. During the entire filming process, he always said such great things. We told him to collect all those sayings and publish a book.”
