[NEWS] 120311 What were South American fans’ reactions when they met Kpop stars JYJ?

Reporter: On the 9th [local time] JYJ’s concert in in Santiago, Chile was held. It was here that I met fans that were almost more passionate than fans from other parts of the world. They were filled with emotion after meeting Korean singers for the first time. Here I will introduce the fans’ first impressions of meeting them.
▲ Monica Sanchez (21-Bolivia)

Last Saturday we came from Bolivia to Santiago in order to see JYJ’s concert. When we listen to JYJ’s music and when we watch their performance videos we gain hope. I especially like the dances where they ask fans to participate/follow along. Compared to only watching their performances on the internet, the live performance is like a dream. Even though we were waiting outside all night long, the thought that we are able to see JYJ keeps us from feeling tired. Because JYJ came to South America, I am very thankful. After the Chile concert, in order to cheer for the boys, we plan to go to the Peru concert as well.
▲Ariana T. (23 yrs.)
As I still am not able to earn a lot of money, I saved for weeks. I was narrowly able to pay for the concert ticket and transportation. However, never in my mind did I think that I’d be able to see my favorite singers in Chile. If they had come to Argentina that would have been better, however the fact that I am able to see them at all makes me content. I hope we create good memories here at JYJ’s Chile Concert.
▲Allison R. (24 yrs.)
I knew that the day would come when I would be able to greet JYJ and Koreans. Thus, I began to learn Korean. Though I am not able to speak it well, by learning Korean I am better able to understand JYJ’s lyrics. [Wearing ‘Always Keep the Faith T-Shirt] Like the words on the T-shirt , believing in JYJ–in the future I will continue to believe in them and will always love them. The fact that we’ll see their performance makes me very nervous.
▲ Andre B. (19 yrs)
From Sweden to Madrid it takes around 4 hours-and after waiting in Madrid for 5 hours, I took a plane from Madrid to Chile. I spent almost a total of 15 hours on planes to be able to see JYJ in Chile. Though I really love them, the fact that I wasn’t able to seem them perform in Europe was a shame. When I heard that JYJ would be performing in Chile, I raked up a lot of cash from working at my part time job. My dream is to one day sing on stage with JYJ. I’m not Chilean and of course it may be a little risky not knowing the area well, but in order to see the concert it can’t be helped. However, just thinking that I’d be able to see them perform makes me tremble/nervous.
▲Michael Castillo (19 yrs).
The day of the concert is my birthday. JYJ’s concert is the best birthday in my life. Because I wanted to show my thankful heart I waited for three days at the airport for them. I still cannot believe the fact that JYJ are in Chile. The fact that they came makes me very thankful. I’ve been their fan for 6 years. I can’t believe that I’ll actually be seeing them. JYJ gave me a lot of strength. In the future if they continue to come to South America, that’d be great.
▲Makoli (?) P. (25 yrs)
Since Monday I started to sleep right here (near the concert venue). Every day from morning to night I saved my spot. I did not think that waiting four days for them was tough. In fact the feeling that I was close to JYJ made me excited. The day JYJ arrived, there were many people who went to go see them. Since I didn’t want to give up my spot, I had my younger cousin stay and wait while I went to go see JYJ at the airport. In reality, there were too many people who came to see them. I was only able to see them from afar. I still cannot come to grasp with the realization that I will see them at the concert.
▲Yojana R. (25 yrs)
I come from a city up North of Chile. I took a 22 hr bus ride to get to Chile. Because of JYJ, I came to Santiago for the first time. To think that I’d be able to see JYJ makes me nervous. I cannot keep calm.
▲Mariana Q. (?) (21 yrs)
I live in Chile. Ever since 5 years ago when I discovered JYJ on the internet, I have attended many fan events. When I heard that JYJ would be coming to Chile I almost fainted. I was so happy that I cried. It was my life’s most moving event. Even though I am waiting for the concert right now, I still can’t believe that it’s happening.
▲Diego V. (21 yrs)
I came from Chillan, which was 2 hours away from Santiago. In order to see JYJ’s concert, I waited in Santiago since Tuesday. I have been a fan of JYJ for almost 6 years. The members’ performances were really good—especially Junsu’s singing was very fantasy-like.  I practiced singing to “In Heaven” so I sang along with JYJ when they performed. The fact that I was able to sing along with them made me feel good. The truth is JYJ’s concert performance seems like a vague dream. However, it wasn’t a dream but reality. The next world tour I would like see to them perform here again.
▲ Ana Maria (54 yrs)
My daughter was first a fan of JYJ and then introduced me to them. Thus, for almost 6 years both my daughter and I have been fans. JYJ have beautiful voices and sing and dance really well. There is no such group like this in Chile. JYJ always has something that draws us to them. When I see other singer, I get rather tired but whenever I watch JYJ’s performances I never get tired. I can never forget their performances. Before hearing of JYJ I knew a little about Korea. However, after discovering JYJ my interest in Korea became greater. Exactly what kind of country were they born in and what kind of environment do they live…I had that curiousity. If there were no JYJ I would know absolutely nothing about Korean. I also went to Korean school. I like Korean language and their culture. JYJ isn’t just a group that sings. If I compare them to other K-pop groups, JYJ has unique music. It is like a dream that they came and I thank them for coming.

[NEWS] Fans brave the cold to camp out for JYJ’s Barcelona concert

Photobucket

On October 29th, JYJ opened their first concert in Barcelona, which drew a large gathering of fans not just from Spain, but all over Europe.

While it’s amazing that fans flew in from all parts of the continent to catch the concert, what’s more surprising is that they’ve been camping out in front of the ticket booth since the day before.

European fans explained, “Who knows when we might be able to see the members again?” As such, fans waited out in the streets for 28 hours in hopes of landing a front row seat.

Some set up tents to help stand the cold, while others laid out their presents (like a special soccer jersey for Junsu) before walking back to their hotels.

Fans commented, “Very amazing, didn’t think the power of Hallyu was this strong,” “Please do well in Europe,” and “I’m really proud of them.”

[INFO] JYJ Fans Seek a Collective Dispute Resolution

“JYJ Fans Seek a Collective Dispute Mediation”
We, worldwide JYJ fans, sustained serious damages from the sudden and unexplainable cancellation of JYJ’s TV appearance in Jeju Island scheduled on July 20, 2011 by KBS-Jeju (Korea Broadcasting System- Jeju).  Those who made arrangements to actually visit Jeju Island to see the performance of JYJ incurred substantial financial damages during this process. We, hereby, plan to pursue an official restitution for these damages. We believe that KBS and others who are responsible for using deceptive advertising, bait and switch, and breach of implied contract by canceling it four days prior to the event should pay for consumers’ damages with sincere apologies. We plan to use a “collective dispute mediation” in Korea  and file a official complaint with Korean Consumer Agency.
1. Why Consumer Collective Dispute Mediation?
In Korea, when a group of consumers sustain the same or similar type of injuries, they have a right to request the Consumer Settlement Commission for a collective resolution of dispute since the Framework Act on Consumers became effective in March of 2007. The collective dispute resolution is more cost effective and faster than class action lawsuits as there will be no fees incurred to consumers and it saves time when a representative is selected for the group. There is always a possibility that the outcome of mediation is not successful. Additionally, this claim covers direct financial losses not the emotional pains and sufferings of consumers. However, we will try our best to represent the rights of JYJ fans (consumers).
2. How This Work?
  • We need at least 50 consumers who can prove their financial damages such as cancellation fees, airline tickets, lodgings, rental car, and any other direct costs related to the travel arrangements from the cancellation of JYJ’s scheduled appearance.
  • A representative will be selected from the victims.
  • We file a complaint, supporting evidence, and power of attorney through the Korea Consumer Agency.
3. Who Can Participate?
If you experienced and could prove financial losses from the cancellation of JYJ’s Jeju appearance on July 20, 2011, you can and should participate. Both Koreans and non Koreans can participate. If you think you are eligible, please send us an email at  jyjjejuconsumer@gmail.com. In the email, please include your name, contact information, and types and estimated costs of financial loss. In the mean time, please gather the supporting evidence to prove these losses. Once we identify the victims and estimated total amount, we will get back to you for power of attorney and supporting documents. A representative will be selected from the victims. Visit our blog, http://jyjfan.egloos.com/ for more information and updates.
Your participation is very important. For more information about collective dispute resolution, view the Frame Act on Consumers at the website of Fair Trade Commission of Korea. We are going to file this claim through the Korea Consumer Agency as this collective dispute mediation request should come from consumer organizations, government, or Korea Consumer Agency not from individuals. Please do not send the documents yet to protect your privacy.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact jyjjejuconsumers@gmail.com or visit http://jyjfan.egloos.com/.

[NEWS] Avex CEO Mr. Matsuura’s twitter is under fire…He is forced to shut down his Twitter

14:08 July 19 (Tues), 2011
The CEO of avex, Mr. Masato Matsuura’s twitter is under fire, and he is forced to shut down his twitter.
There was a suspicion that a Chinese singer stole a song composed by Jaejoong (ex-member of Tohoshinki, currently a member of JYJ). There was a rumor on the internet that it was an act of Mr. Matsuura (and those around him). In regard to this, Mr. Matsuura said on the 17th that “I don’t have anything to do with it, and I don’t know anything about it. But there are those who send me childish complains anonymously, selfishly misunderstanding the situation. It sucks, and also lame… This time, we are the victims. Thanks for your understanding.” (T/N: pls click for the trans here.) And receiving slander comments continuously, he tweeted, “There is no meaning doing such things, so I will be off from twitter, excluding the time I’ll be uploading my photos!”
After that, his followers sent “Please do not quit”, but he responded by “But, some jy (T/N: twitter user’s account name) said I should quit (Lol)”. Some of the fans on twitter exploded their anger. ”Don’t call the group name like that, you are the CEO” “Keep in mind of your position”. They also send other attacking comments, and Mr. Matsuura’s twitter became an exchange of words, and thus, under fire. Mr. Matsuura responded to many comments of his followers saying “I cannot leave this untouched.” Afterwards he tweeted “Thank you for everything up to today. There are stupid persons like me (Lol). I am happy that there are those who understood a stupid person like me, and also, understood somewhat of my few good points, too. So,for the time being, good bye” “So, see you!”
There are contractual problems between avex and JYJ, and there are various conjectures on the internet concerning avex and JYJ.

Twitter War between Japanese JYJ fans and avex CEO Matsuura Masato.

Tweet about the issue by Jaejoong:
mjjeje: “Wasurenaide” is not my song, nor is it anybody’s song. It belongs to the 5 people of “Tohoshinki”. That’s why we don’t wish to sing it, either alone, or as 3 people.

The Korea Heart Foundation revealed on the 24th that JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong and his fanclub “Love Joong” has donated 6,000,000 KRW (approximately 6,000 USD) towards the cost of operation for a 14-year old girl and a 1-year old baby boy who are suffering from heart disease.
The managers of “Love Joong” said: “We prepared the donation through the profits from auction for Jaejoong’s treasured possessions and the entrance fee (for the event) held for Jaejoong’s birthday last January. Just as Kim Jaejoong-kun moves many people and gifts much happiness to them through his singing and acting, we will put into action even more sharing (of good deeds).”
