On 30 November, JYJ’s management company C-JeS revealed that “JYJ’s first Korean album released in September, recorded 250,000 copies in sales despite the broadcast restrictions, a proof of their burning popularity. To express their gratitude towards the fans, JYJ released a special edition album which included a MV DVD and remix versions, and this (special edition album) is currently sold out at 70,000 copies.”

This Special Edition album includes remix versions of the two songs that have been greatly loved by fans across the world during their worldwide concerts, “Get Out” and “In Heaven.” The trendy electronic mix for Get Out was co-produced by DJ Fractal, who had previously worked with Seo Taiji.

As for the ballad “In Heaven” which leaves a deep impression of people with its 3-member harmony, it uses an acoustic guitar sound as its focal point, blending the unique softness of pop ballads together with powerful rock elements.

JYJ said, “As these are songs that we wrote ourselves, the remix versions are even more special.This year, be it those who hope to have a sensitive, delicate year-end, or those who are at a party with their friends, we hope that everyone can enjoy the remixed songs comfortably, and with our new music, spend a warm winter together with your loved ones. “

C-JeS said, “The “In Heaven” Special Edition which was released last week was sold out from its release, and requests from fans who have not been able to purchase the album have been pouring in. As this is a special edition album and not an actual album, having a situation of such a high level of demand is extraordinary in the music industry. JYJ’s ever growing popularity in Japan remains unchanging.

On October 15 in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, the JYJ World Tour opened to audiences of greater than 80,000 people for two days. JYJ’s Special Edition CD of their In Heaven album also has swept records charts for all the major record stores. But on top of all of this, JYJ’s Worldwide Concert Tour DVD sold out on Amazon Japan, which further proves the band’s explosive popularity.

An official from Tower Records stated “JYJ related music and DVDs always immediately lead to explosive sales. Compared to Hallyu stars, JYJ’s albums are always in scarce numbers [because of high sales] and the reaction to them is much higher than any other singer. Also, we find this situation even more surprising because JYJ has not had any public activities in Japan for two years now.” 

The JYJ members may not be able to have many activities in Japan, but SNS sites such as twitter provide them a way to communicate with their Japanese fans. In particular, not long ago JYJ member Kim Jaejoong was ranked as number two on an annual twitter ranking for celebrities in Japan. Also, in October, Jaejoong’s popularity was once again displayed when he came in second place in Japan’s popular “Best Jeanist” fashion award only behind a member of the “nation’s group” Arashi.

JYJ’s personal activities are also of high interest among the Japanese fans. Park Yoochun’s “Sunkyungkwan Scandal” ranked number 1 on DVD charts in Japan for a whole month. Furthermore, the special edition album for JYJ’s first Korean album “In Heaven” is receiving explosive responses in Japan. On the first day alone the pre-order number had already exceeded the complete stock of albums available and the number of orders have already broken the 100,000 mark. The official sale of the CD starts this week.

JYJ Releases Special Edition Album

JYJ has been a hot issue for the duration of the second half of 2011 with not merely the explosive sales in the albums but also the successful tour in Europe. Their special edition album that is created to be a giving-back for the love from the fans has been formed as a DVD that contains the music video and making film along with a music CD that has added to it the remix version(s).

in the CD, In Heaven and Get Out which were double-title songs among the 10 songs originally showcased are included in arrangements that give totally new feels. On the DVD, there are 2 music videos, making film, QR Movie, and the like. In particular, the music video for In Heaven’s 10-minute version which has gathered attention as the love story between member Kim Junsu and Song Jihyo is a music drama that has a degree of completion and thus gathers anticipation.

An affiliate of the JYJ’s album revealed on the 11th: “This special edition is a strictly fan-service DVD. [The fans can] meet the making film of the jacket shooting and the music video set which were proceeded while JYJ members prepared for this album and also unreleased films. There are not many opportunities in which [JYJ] can show themselves signing on television and so more effort was put into the music video [than otherwise] and so the results came out well. The ordering process began yesterday and the first-day order also jumped over the predicted number.”
