[TRANS] 120121 Lee Seung Gi vs Park Yoochun, Two Similar “Prince” Roles To Face Off In March

Lee Seung Gi and Park Yoochun, who are both singer cum actors, will be facing off directly in Wednesday-Thursday dramas in March.

Lee Seung Gi will be appearing in the MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama “The King” together with Ha Ji-Won, a story about a fictitious monarchy that rules South Korea, and a satirical love story that unfolds between the “South Korean Prince” Lee Jae-ha and the North Korean special forces’ “Legendary Female Trainer” Kim Hang-ah.

On the other side, Park Yoochun will be working with Han Jimin, as the male lead for the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Attic Prince.” This drama is about the crown prince of the chosun dynasty Lee Gak, who loses his beloved princess then travels with his consorts 300 years into the future to the modern day Seoul, to continue his unrealised romance from the past,s a fantasy-romantic comedy.

Park Yoochun, who is playing the crown prince is once again playing a role in a period drama after his debut project “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” which received a lot of love. Since the crown prince moves from the past to modern times, you will naturally be able to see his modern-day charm in this drama as well. This drama will show many comical moments of how the crown prince tries to adapt to the modern day, and develop a different type of time-travel romance.

“The King” will be broadcast after “The moon that embraces the sun”, while “Attic Prince” will play after “Please take care of us, Captain.” Lee Seung Gi and Park Yoochun, who are both playing “princes” will be facing off directly in these two broadcast stations’ Wednesday-Thursday drama slots.

Whether Lee Seung Gi or Park Yoochun will triumph in the early part of Spring (in March), is something worth looking out for.

[NEWS] 120110 Park Yoochun returns to drama in SBS’s ‘Attic King’

Group JYJ member and actor Park Yoochun comes back to TV with SBS’s ‘Attic King’.

Drama department director Kim Young Sub at SBS revealed to Star News on January 10th, “Park Yoochun has been confirmed as the male lead character for ‘Attic King’.”

This marks Park Yoochun’s return to drama 8 months after MBC’s ‘Miss Ripley’ has ended in July of 2011. Park Yoochun will be playing the role of the male protagonist Lee Gak on ‘Attic King’ to premier in March this year.

Director Kim said, “The contract has not been signed yet but the verbal agreements have almost been reached. The opposite character has not been cast yet.”

‘Attic King’ is written by Lee Hee Myung and will be directed by Shin Yoon Sub PD.

[NEWS] 120110 Yoochun turns into a prince for new drama

He’s played Prince Charming types before (the noble aristocrat in Sungkyunkwan Scandaland the chaebol in Miss Ripley), but now Park Yoochun is going to play an actual prince for Rooftop Prince, a new SBS drama to air in March.

The story sounds like a fantasy fusion piece, unfolding around a Joseon-era crown prince who loses his beloved princess. He and his trusty vassals skip forward 300 years into the 21st century. How that happens we don’t yet know, but that gives him the chance to meet a woman in Seoul bearing the same face as the dead princess. Insert joke here about how they all look alike?

No info yet on whether this will be a comedy or a melo (or, heck, a horror-action-thriller), but picturing a noble Joseon prince (basically Yoochun’s appearance in Sungkyunkwan, but even more regal) living in a tiny rooftop box of a room brings me an automatic chuckle. That’s prime comedy stuff, no? Forget how he’ll win the girl — how will he navigate the city? Figure out technology? Manage the newfangled bathrooms? If he’s literally time-jumping (rather than being reborn in a new life), then he’ll be a fish out of water, a nobody, a poor jobless dude. HEE. It’s like Vampire Idol meets Jeon Woo Chi meets Encino Man. Bring it on.

Quite a pedigree on the producers of Rooftop Prince: writing is Lee Hee-myung ofTomato, Success Story of a Bright Girl, and Bad Family, while directing is PD Shin Yoon-sub of KAIST, Love in Heaven, and Why Did You Come To Our House.

[NEWS] SBS Negotiating Extension of “Protect the Boss” by 2 Episodes, Decision Likely By the 9th

Choi Kanghee – Ji Sung Protect the Boss, In Discussion on Extending by 2 Episodes. “Planned to Decide on 9^th”

The SBS Wed-Thursday drama special Protect the Boss is discussing whether to have an extension of 2 episodes.

On the 8^th, SBS Choi Munsuk CP revealed to Seoul Shinmun NTN: “It is true that we are in discussion with regards to extending Protect the Boss by 2 episodes. We will hold a meeting today (8^th) and it seems that by tomorrow (9^th) there should be a decision.”

Another affiliate of SBS relayed also: “We are in discussion with regards to extendingProtect the Boss by 2 episodes. But extension is not something that can be decided upon with ease. We need the agreement of the actor, the production company, and such.”

Continuing, he added: “There is nothing decided and we did not enter into the contract itself either. When it is decided, we will make an official announcement through SBS.”

On the other hand, Protect the Boss is a romantic comedy that unfolds as Eunsul who had been experiencing trouble finding a job becomes a secretary to a delinquent boss of a chaebol corporation after much happenings. Choi Kanghee, Ji Sung, Kim Jaejoong and Wang Jihye and such are appearing and receiving much love.
